Interviewing agents for the monumental task of helping you to either sell your home or buy a home This is likely the largest Single investment that you’re going to be selling within the next 5 7 maybe even 10 years when you follow along and ask these simple questions You’ll not only feel awesome about asking super-smart questions But you’ll feel great about making the right choice to find the right agent to help you accomplish your real estate goals Question number one. How are you different? This may seem like kind of a really weird off-the-wall question But quite honestly to have a high level of success in this business. You truly have to be different. What is The opposite of different the way that I see it. The opposite of different is average Do you want to choose an average agent? Because the average agent will sell between four to seven homes. Annually, that’s Shoot. It’s almost about like one home Every two months being different means that you’re learning based you’re focused on achievement You’re hungry. You’re driven, you’re working harder than the average agent being different is Actually a good thing in this business. I think you’re going to end up getting some really interesting responses I think that it’s gonna throw the agent out of kind of their natural routine and natural rhythm Which is a good thing quite honestly So the simple question of why are you different? Is a great question to ask and if they get all slobber guested and and can’t answer that one simple question Show him the door next question. What is your mission your vision your values your beliefs and your perspective So what do I mean by that? Why are you in this business? Why do you do what you do? What honestly it’s a really hard business you have so many Challenges and and so much that you have to do on a regular basis that it can be really challenging So why are you in this business? Why are you doing it? What’s your vision for yourself? And for your business and for your team, that’s a totally valid question. I think you’re going to get some really interesting responses what are your values in your business quite honestly, you want to be in alignment with the Values of the person that you’re choosing to go through this this process with because truly it can be a roller coaster Their ups and downs when you’re in alignment not on the values that you have with your real estate professional That’s who’s going to make this whole process much easier. So great question asks, what are your values? What do you value? So what’s your perspective on the real estate business? How can you make a positive impact on my life by me choosing to do business with you? So, what’s your mission? What’s your vision? What are your values? What do you believe in and what’s your perspective on how you can truly benefit me in? In this relationship question number three, what are the benefits to me? You know I choose to work with you if they don’t know What the benefits are and why somebody should should work with them if that’s truly somebody that you want to work with Not me Next out the door So let’s take a second comment down below with any questions that you might ask a real estate agent to make people look Super super smart when looking to make the right choice to hire a real estate agent Let’s talk proof of success Question that you can ask is show me proof of success what you’ve done in the past twelve months How many homes have you closed in the past twelve months? What’s your average list price? So when you list a home, how much do you typically sell that home for at the end of the transaction? What that means is how much money are you putting in in your sellers pocket? And then what is your average days on market? So how quickly do you do sell homes? If somebody tells me that my average days on market is is 90 120 days Do you want to have your home ready for showings for open houses? For for just like the process of selling your home every day for a hundred twenty days No, thank you ultimately when I talk to people they they say I want as much money as possible and I want you to sell my home as quickly as possible because this process is hard. It is absolutely hard There is no ifs ands or buts about it and the faster you can get through the process the faster that people can get to their final destination and hopefully it’s with the tropical drink in their hand and Palm springs palm tree swaying and white sandy peaches and a bungalow right on the beach Okay, that’s probably not gonna be everybody but it sounded nice and it came into my head. So why not? So those are really important things that you need to know You need to know the proof of success because quite honestly the proof is in the pudding Keep feeding me the rock here are five things that you can do to be better prepared for that appointment and make sure that you’re ahead of the game rather than behind and You’re setting your agent up for success and making sure that they have everything that they need if you choose to work with that agent And you sign on the line that has got it then that agent is going to be able to go do their job more effectively Efficiently and save you time energy and effort and that’s what we want, right Number one make sure that you have two sets of extra keys ready for your agent. Number two Review and complete the seller property disclosure forms in your state more than likely you’re going to have to fill those forms out regardless of who you choose so So when you have that information Completed it’s done It’s going to give you peace of mind and it’s also going to help your be more effective in their job number three Prepare a description of your home in your own words you know the benefits of living in your home in your neighborhood and in your city more than anybody else So by by really thinking about what you love about living there why you have why you chose to? To move into that home in that neighborhood in the first place is going to help your agent do a really great job with their marketing and And use those selling points in attracting new buyers Prepare a list of upgrades if you if you bought your home as a brand new home typically The Builder is going to give you a list of options and upgrades or actually it would just be upgrades That you chose when building the home so make sure that you have a list of all of those upgrades or if you’ve done renovations Over the years that you’ve lived in the home complete a list of those renovations again, that way your agent can use those points in their marketing and their presentations to attract new buyers last and final tip any closing Docs or loan Docs that you’ve you’ve had from the purchase or if you’ve Refinanced the home and had a new appraisal done recently There’s some good information that agents can typically use in there to help them be more effective in their job Any and all information like that is going to be good So prepare that stuff in advance and have it ready for your agent if you’re interested in selling or buying real estate in the metro Portland market at least And you want to practice some of these some of these questions and some of these tips that we’ve gone through in this video We’ve got a really really awesome team that sells lots of homes that would love to answer any of these questions And any additional questions that you might have if you just want to practice on somebody give us a call Five zero three eight seven seven three six three seven We’re here to help and help you practice and get really good at these questions.
