– My name is Melissa Freeman and I am the managing
director at PRESS Recruitment. PRESS Recruitment opened
three and a half years ago. We are a boutique
organisation that specialises in the property and real estate industry. Some of the areas that we
cover are property management, both residential and commercial, we also focus on strata management, development and construction. – Marketing and recruitment
have come a long way. I remember first entering the industry and being taught the process
of sticking an advert up on seek.com.au, then having
to rely on short listing from hundreds, sometimes
thousands of applications. – Marketing has changed because
we don’t actually have to rely on your traditional, large marketing platforms anymore. We can actually use and
leverage social media platforms in order to proactively go to candidates instead of waiting for them to come to us. – We wanted to build a new website because we identified that
our website was the gateway into our business, not
only for hiring managers, principals, and that sort of thing, but also candidates and
talent within the industry. – We wanted to build a new website because we didn’t want
to be solely dependent on the major platforms. We didn’t want to compete
with thousands of other jobs or other organisations
who are looking for staff. We partnered with Stepps because we wanted a
website that was different. I attended a Stepps workshop
a couple of years ago, and they explained the
importance of having the website as the heartbeat of your business, and having your marketing
strategy tie into that website. Stepps has a great
understanding of the real estate and property industry in which we operate, and we felt that their portfolio and their work spoke for itself. – The team at Stepps
have been very insightful with not only looking
at what we can do better with our website, but also
how that website integrates with an overall marketing strategy, and Stepps, they have
their finger on the pulse with what’s happening, technology wise, so they’ve been
instrumental with providing that guidance and advice to us. – What we’re most looking forward to about working with Stepps in the future is to develop a industry-leading
marketing strategy which links to our website. – The experience, working
with the team at Stepps, has been a rewarding one. They understand our business,
and I’m looking forward to seeing where it takes us.
The website is just step one. So we’ll see what happens next.
