How to work in Real Estate – Kimberly’s story

My name is Kimberly Cooper I work for
first national Nielsen partners as an investment property manager. A typical
day as an investment property manager involves a lot of multitasking dealing
with clients viewing properties a lot of incoming calls and enquiries no two days
are the same it definitely is a career that you can’t get bored in.
Previously I’ve worked in bankruptcy portfolio management. That gave me an insight to
the real estate industry and something that I obviously felt that I could
pursue a career in. I did my agents representatives certificate with Chisholm
real estate in Frankston and then went on to do my full license through
Chisholm also. I found it quite helpful with Chisholm that they offered a night
class for studying your certificate Four. I was able to work full time and was still able to maintain a family life, while studying two nights a week for three hours. One of coordinators with Chisholm approached the class and advised that there was
positions with first national possibly becoming available and I was fortunate enough to be able to secure an interview with Allison, the Director of First National Rental department and was fortunate enough to be successful in
that position Kimberly Cooper came to work for us we
were looking for a cadet and the standout thing for me with
was the transferable skills that she was able to bring over. That attention to
detail her time management. She had worked in an industry where people skills were
very important and based on the fact that she was also, had just completed her Agents Representatives license. The stars aligned and we
employed her as a cadet. I was very fortunate that from the beginning I was able to do my agents rep doing my full license and secure in full-time
employment as a cadet. Within the first couple of months of being employed there I was promoted to assistant property manager and from there I have secured my own portfolio of 169 properties yeah I’m really proud of that. It’s something that was only able to be done with the support that I got from Chisholm. If I were to give one
piece of advice to someone that’s entering into the real estate industry
it would be to do full agents license I find that really really helpful
throughout the introduction process of working in property management.
