How to pick a Real Estate Agent: Look beyond buzzwords – Quick Tip #4

Passion, experience, and market knowledge….is that all you really need? Hi, I’m Forest Selby with the Firehill Group
with today’s quick tip. Many in this industry like to talk about how passionate they are for the
job, and how passionate they are for real estate, and helping people. Passion can come and go
like a 6th grade romance. It can cloud logic, ignore facts, and lead to bad decisions. A
commitment to excellence, a commitment to clients, and a commitment to their business. That’s
more important than passion. It will outlive passion. Time spent does not equal mastery. There is a big difference between 20 years of experience
and 1 year of experience repeated 20 times. And if that one year of experience is bad
experience, you’ve done that now twenty times! That doesn’t make you good. That makes you
really, really bad. The person who knows it all is just as dangerous as the person who doesn’t know anything. Both
can lead to bad decisions. You want to focus on somebody who has the attitude of “I’ll
find out.” or “If I don’t know, I’ll find out” You want someone who pursues excellence at all levels and isn’t satisfied until they
find it and get it to you…and that may not be them. If your real estate agent is
always steering and directing you toward themselves just because of their “passion, their experience,
and their market knowledge” rather than finding someone who is committed to excellence
and in finding out the answers for you…you should probably find another agent. Thank you for watching today’s quick tip.
