Ep. 3: How To Be A Successful Real Estate Agent


So how does one become a successful real estate
agent? You know what we did? We asked Stephen Bello, who’s one of our
expert real estate trainers out in Long Beach, California, and this is what he had to say
on advising us how to become a successful real estate agent. What he said was this, he said number one
you must have self discipline. Are you kidding me? That’s fantastic. Of course you must have self discipline because
nobody else is going to help you but you yourself. You’re the one that’s going to have to get
out of bed, you’re the one that’s going to have to study the market, you’re the one that’s
going to have to actually physically get up and get going. It’s all you. Number two, what Stephen Bello said, you
must be a good listener. You know why? Because it’s all about communication. Listen to your clients, listen to their needs,
listen to their wants. They’re there for your advice. They’re asking for your input. Give it to them. You are the professional. Listen to what they want. Listen to what they need. It’s your job to get them to where they need
to be. Number three, Mr. Stephen Bellows says, know
your market. That of course is a no brainer, knowing your
market. Know what’s going on in your own back yard. Not all of the country, not in all of the
states, heck not even all of the counties. Know what’s going on in your city, in the
area you are working at. People want to know if they’re in the hands
of somebody who’s comfortable and really truly knows the streets and neighborhoods in the
areas they will be living in the future. And by you knowing the values, by you knowing
the entire neighborhoods of where they want to be, that’s going to make them feel fantastic. Know the markets. However, I have a couple of things that I
would like to share with you also. One that I feel is very important is you must
be a people person. You have to love people, you must, you must,
you must love people. This is a people business. And, another fact that I think is very, very
important I learned later on in life in grammar school, this is what I learned when they told
me you get out what you put in to it. And that my friends is what I believe is the
true core value of real estate when it comes to making money. You simply get out of it what you put into
it. Let me share something with you. This amount of people do it, this amount of
people do it well. And just this amount of people do it well
with a passion. And you have to decide where you fall in line. Thanks for visiting our video blog, I hope
