Best DISC Profile for a Real Estate Agent

Best DISC Profile for a Real Estate Agent

– When building the
ideal real estate team, what DISC profile should
you be looking for? (light music) The ideal disc profiles
when it comes to agents, and now I’ve found it’s a
little bit different here, and this goes for both
agents and for ISAs, because the same DISC profiles for these. Now, the agents who tend to
do better working with buyers versus sellers tend to be
a little bit different. The one that’s consistent all the way across the board, high I. In my opinion, that’s a nonnegotiable. When I’m hiring people,
I’ve actually found that the best people I hire
aren’t necessarily people with a strong sales background. It’s people that have a
strong people background, a good strong customer service background. I want people people, not sales people, and those always have very high Is. So I, again, very interactive,
they’re influential, they love to talk, they love to engage, they’re the person who can
walk into a networking event and engage in conversation immediately. They’re not the person who
slides over into the corner, gets on their cell phone
and hides from everybody. So, high Is, super important. That’s what we need as realtors, right? Whether we’re at an open house,
somebody walks in the door, I need to be interacting
with them the second they walk in the door. If I get them on the phone,
I need to be interacting immediately on the phone. That’s pretty much a
nonnegotiable, the high I. But this is where I start
to see the difference between a strong buyer agent
and a strong listing agent. What I found with buyer’s
agents, and again, these are the same for agents and ISAs, on the buyer’s side, a high
S tends to do really well. They’re very supportive,
they’re very stable, they’ve very good listeners a
lot of the time for high Ss, and when you’re working with
buyers, you guys’ll see that buyers want to be listened to. It’s the most important
thing with the buyer. You want to hear what are their
wants, what are their needs, and it’s your job to satisfy
those, and Ss do a really good job of that, so very
supportive, very stable, very secure, they do great,
so an IS, in my opinion, is one of the best DISC profiles
on the buyer agent side, and then if we come over
to the listing agent side, again, I want that high I,
but now I like to have a D along with that, which,
again, is decisive, dominant, direct, because as you
working with sellers, it’s a very different approach
than working with buyers. It’s not a soft. Buyers want a little hand holding. They want to feel comfortable. Sellers want to be sold. You’ve gotta sell yourself to a seller. Buyer side, you’ve got to listen. Sell side, you’ve got to sell yourself. You’ve got to tell them,
why are you the best agent for the job, cause a lot of
times they’re interviewing multiple people, you’ve got
to be direct, you’ve got to be confident, who you are,
you gotta be able to sell what you’re gonna do and
be very direct about it, so again, IS on the buyer agent side, ID on the listing agent side,
and again, ISA, same thing. So that is the ideal DISC
profiles when it comes to all of the roles on your team. If you guys love this

  1. Quick question, what does it mean if I'm a high I(81) but my S(63) and D(56) are almost identical. Even stranger my Adaptive Scores for D jumps to 70 and S drops to 17 🤷🏽‍♂️. I like the idea of being able to excel at both someday. However, as a newer realtor, I'd lie to focus one side for now. Everyone says go with Listing first but what if I'm better suited to work with Buyers. Anything insights at all would be greatly appreciated.

You did a great of breaking everything down and I want to say I appreciate the time it took to make this. I just moved from San Diego back to South Florida after leaving the Marine Corps in 2016. It looks like you guys have a great environment over there let me know if you ever branch out to the east coast.
